sorry to flog a dead horse......but I just priced a 2.5 inch exhaust from the cat back at $250 unfitted. Im seriously thinking about buying one but i was wondering if im rushing things and should perhaps get a complete exhaust system. basically i have no idea what results i will get from the exhaust or the benefits of getting a full exhaust system.

well just for comparison, i payed $210 for my 2.5" cat back system, fitted. Its a walker setup, with a single super turbo mufler, sounds very sweet! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I have pacemakers on mine with a 2 1/2 mandrel bent with a high flow cat and single high flow muffler and it makes a lot of difference.. nice note also, however putting a 2 1/2 from cat back will not improve performance so much as make noise.. I will be selling the extractors shortly (they were only on the car a week and someone ran into it..) the car returns in a fortnight and gets a dose of rb20 turbo D private message me if you are interested in the extractors - I am in sydney.

Hey dude.. there's no need to worry about rushing the exhaust because although it might be a tiny weeny bit chepaper to buy it and have it all fitted at once (extractors/zorst).. you can still get the cat back now and then fit the extractors at a later date. if u buy a cat back system now, they are easy to install, you can do it yourself in about 1 1/2 hours. You will probably only notice a change in your exhaust note with this mod. when u save up some more cash, get some pacemaker, genie, or lukey extracts (those are the brands I know of that u can choose from) and u can then fit those, along with a 2 1/2" highflow cat, if u hadn't put it on already, in about an hour, depending weather u'r exhaust manifold studs are in decent condition.. u may notice a smoother and more powerful responce from 0 -40 or so kph with the extractors. hope some of this info helps. Cheers. Ollie.

Changing your cat-back exhaust will take you 20 mins.. Im about to take of my exhaust manifold.. if the studs snap what do I do? How do I get them out and Where do I get new ones?

Most probably they will snap, buy a full set from Holden because you'll find that about half will snap when undoing them, then when youre ready to do them back up, the rest will give way on ya. I have my car booked in to get new studs put in and the mechanic said that when they break they usually snap flush with the head, so he welds a nut onto them.

MAybe save up and change the extrators as well. I got extractors cause the engine pipes were scrapping the ground. i have found a difference in mid range revs and the car sounds deeper as well. Only problem i have now is the extractors are 2.5 inch while the cat back exhaust is the stock 2 inch. There is a funny sound which sounds similar to a blow off valve when u rev the car to about 4000rpm. Never used to be there when the extractors wern't on and came when the extractors were put on. Problery just the extractor quality or something but still it pisses me off.
