easy turn it down!!!!! what you can do is use body deadener available at panel beater suppliers (same as the car audio stuff but much much cheaper) apply this to the surfaces of the panels it will help also make sure all the trims around the rear windscreen and boot lid are tight....

Hey fellas, Which way is your sub facing? I got a 89 Skyline and I removed the wooden panel in the boot and placed it flush against the back seats, towards the front of the car. More volume + less panel rattle! Otherwise use bitumen based sound deadner from Jaycar. That does the trick. R31man

Hey guys, That space invader in the boot works... also a block of foam from a local foam dealer will work on some parts.

it might stop those rattles but how do u stop rear vision mirrors moving , front doors rattling etc. hehe the joys of silly loud stereos as ive said hundreds of times b4 , do the space invader trick in bootlid , bitumastic paint everywhere , carpet and foam all places , tighten any possible screws and cut the metal behind the back seat (theres a trianglur shape , just cut to it) , and if you have a calais flip middle rear seat , leave it down , u can see the sub and also provides way more sound to pass into the cabin , inturn sounds better.
