i saw a VL Calais Turbo Wagon in the QLD trading post for $6900... i thought that was a bit low for it - might have been trashed for that price... i think they normally go for about $10 - $15k (just a few grand more than a sedan calais turbo, simply because they are rarer).

Theyre rare as cause i think they were only made in 88. Not 100% but i think the calais wagons are berlinas but calais optioned.

Im not suprised that there are so few CT wagons, but I'm suprised that they are limited and sought after. Isn't the wagon bit the same as the one on the VC? The big chunky back end kinda doesn't go with the sleek front on the VL Calais. So were they actually limited or was it just that not many people wanted em?

i think you find turbo wagons were limited as there not tow vehicles or rep/company exec's cars market. sold lots of vacationer type models in a wagon.

All the Calais Wagons were built in 88. This was because Holden were approaching the new VN model, and still had a good 500-odd Wagon shells that no-one wanted. So released a limited version Calais Wagon to sell off the brand new wagon shells that they wouldnt have otherwise sold. Came in all 3 engine types - n/a 6, turbo 6, and v8. Auto was standard, but Manual was an option (like on any calais). I think there were about 10 Manual Calais Turbo Wagons made from factory - about 50 Calais Turbo Wagons (man and auto), most were n/a (100 odd ?) and about 50 v8's..
