A few weeks ago comeing back from the all holden day car show I seen a nice black VN Aero in a car yard,so me and my mate nathen stoped for a look.
From what we could see on the outside it was VERY clean with the black paint perfect.
Cant remember what wheels were on it but I think they were polished 17 inch simmons.
And it was 5 speed manual
As soon as I seen it I was thinking mmmmm.....polished 19's,vortech pump, cooler and maybe a bigger exhuest (if needed)
Then I remembered my HUGE lack of cash...LOL
But before then I never really thought much about the aero's,but after seeing this one I can't get it out of my head!
So whats everone think of the VN Aero's?were they are well put together car?
What KW were they from HDT?
BTW the yard was asking $17000 for it! 8O

Nah, I love the look of them actually, don't know anything mechanically or comfort-wise about them, but they are a nice looking car

All the VN Aero's are different as all have been built from customer supplied cars. Quite a few of them are V6 as well. Power outputs varied depending upon what the customer wanted done back then. Don't expect the current owners of HDT to be able to give you much info on them either as they didn't build them. They should be able to check the numbers on the car though.

great looking cars, but the ****ty VN mockups and try-hard-mobiles spoil it for avn aero done right.
If you got a smick one, weather DIY or with papers, make sure its all smick, otherwise it will look like the shoddy examples that look like they have been nailed togeather, and have rough paint.
VN Aeros' look and would go good if the job is done right.
Good combo, VN SS with an Aero kit, inn the factory Atlas Grey... mm nice
Ive seen one around thomo, thats maroon, and has the same hdt mags as JetBT1... looks great.
In the performance field, too any Aero V6s, not enough V8s from what i have seen.

THe wheels JETBT1 has are actually off the VN Aero, so thats why you would have seen them on an Aero :P
My mate has one of those mock vn aeros chucked on an exec, he is currently doing it up to sell it.. it actually goes quite good, and will look mint when its finished.. but atm it looks like a bucket of ****
I agree tho, there is so many shotty aero kits on crappy vns.. if done right, it can look good

there was a black vn aero in street commodore summernats issue, it was black, tubbed, 18inch simmons, stroked, and had an absolutely awesome interior. It sh*ts on sirhdt's green aero, it was pure class

My mate ran a red light once cos he was too busy looking in the rearview at a black VN aero following him one day! 8O lol

I know the guy who has that now. Cost him 8 grand + in engine and gearbox 2 months after owning it, engine was shot!
Now stroked to near 6L??? fully rebuilt, new quickshift, and driveline.
Getting another feature in street commodores soonish.
Very very nice, and goes very very hard!!! What more could you want!!

03-12-02, 14:19 GMT+10#16 i think there are more dodgy job groupa kits on vn's, at least there are around my area. so many crap white execs with full group a kit :S shame cos when done right the group a can also make a tuff car out of the vn..like the aero. if i had a vn it would be a tough choice between the 2
