Hi all The basher wagon has been running like **** and with the computers diagnostics I have been able to track it to the coolant sensor (code 13) However the computer also threw a 21 and a 32 code These apparently mean ignition signal malfunction and starter signal/circuit malfunction respectively Is there anything that usually fails on the VL that would throw these codes? Anything obvious to look for? Or is a thorough examination required? Cheers d

coolant sensor is easy, and relatively cheap. it should run **** on cold idle cos it thinks its hot, or idle high all the time cos it thinks its cold. don't know which. vl computers don't have defaults like newer commodores apparently. Could it be the CAS? is it running right / not backfiring? I don't know how to do it, but are you sure they're the codes? Like where did you find out how to do this?

If you getting start signal error codes, and starter motor one, sounds like your wiring harness may be at fault.. i mean if you can start the car, then that side of it works ok. How does it idle when its cold, snd when its hot? Double check the codes that you have not read them wrong, as they can be easily mistaken sometimes. Try cleaning the connector on the temp sensor with WD-40, and also the connector(s) on the actual computer itself.
