vl v8's were design purely for towing cars. better off buying a vk v8 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Why buy a VK? The body styling isnt a patch on VLs. And they are older.

they wernet 'designed' as towing vehicles, they were just marketed that way. infact i saw a holden pamphlet saying exactly the same thing about the turbo.

if you wanted a V8 commodore a vl isn't the way to go, unless its a walky! the vk 5L had heaps more power or go for a later model EFI version. Std 5L vl's would get done by most later model commodore and falcon six's.

**** me dead!! I WOULD not rather a VK V8 over a VL V8, ****in old piece of **** square same shape as models before. VL had the sexy lines, the curves, the lights, the interiors, the DIFF, the brakes, the SPEEDO (**** knows what they were thinking with square speedo cluster etc..) shall I go on? both V8 models needed work to get going, unless you bought the SS in either. only positive was the VK getting manual transmissions in base V8's, even if they were POS M21's. I rest my case. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

and you WOULD be surprised how much just getting the VL 5.0 breathing better makes a increase in power. Just zorst and air filter mods will be HUGE difference from stock

even the VL groupA (brock) only had 132 or something kw. just because they are pretty low on power standard doesn't mean you cant get them going, i've been in a couple of pretty quick vl v8's.

I think the line of advertising for the V8 VLs was something like "Only Holden torques your language" or something similar. Apparently they were uncomfortable having and advertising a more powerful turbo 6 because it was osrt of against what they had been advertising in the past and would be in the future when the 308 became their performance motor again

Ok, well except for the front end (which looks kinda ricey to me) and the little boot bit, the VK and VL body look near exactly the same. The interiors look near the same also, and personaly, i like the VK dash better. VK digital dash looks even more better (pitty they are so dodgy but) I heard from somewhere that as soon as the needle hits the reset pin thing on the VK dash that it would basicly die straight away (go straigt back to zero, and never move again). Any one know if this is true? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VL V8's were choked with emmision equipment, with a little sparkle they go pretty hard, as my v8 friend says, "anything done to a vlt can be done to a v8 to make it go harder too" I like turbos but i also like v8s..

As far as i know the VK V8 was 117kW. now with the VL V8 being 122kW.. i dont think the vk had "heaps more power". last night some wanker was revving his vl v8 in the underground carpark.. rolling around for over 5 mins mins just making ****loads of sound, then left. actually i dont blame him, it sounded ****en tuff as! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VL looks ricey hey? you muppet!! puh-lease, has to be a pretty mad VK for me to say yeah, thats nice. BUT a vl thats dumped with a good set of rims and paint makes anyone happy, they just have the curves that most people like. In my opinion I think people who like other than holden cars will always look at a VL different to any other commodore, they are special. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hey to keep this less hostile how about the vk boys stay in the vk area and the skyline boys stay in the skyline area and the legendary vl boys stay in their own area it keeps the fights down that way. Yes and before you ask the question here's your answer "Yes I am a Wanker", but hey atleast I have enough sense to own a vl. lol thankyou and thats my two cents worth.

No seriously people its all about own personal choice - we are human (well some of us, I'm not so sure about - have you seen that Sin guy.... na only joking man lol) and we do like different things it would be bloody boring if everyone liked VLs how boring would that be - everyone driving 10 second luxury cars.... kidding.. lol!! Just be mindful of other peoples views and accept them. Later dudes

RooF, i don't mean the VL looks ricey, I ment just the the front bumper bit. Just doesn't look right (the standard one) The VK's, and VL's are my two favrite cars, they BOTH look awsome to me.
