Hi, Can anyone tell me what the best gearbox oil would be to use for the vl turbo MX7 5 speed? Also the best oil for my LSD which is fairly tired? Cheers, Damian.

i heard redline oil is the best gearbox oil by far. It is hard to come by though and quite expensive, but fixes/helps any crunching and geartrain noises. When i get some time im going to get some of it.

ive been told that dextron oil or something is ment to be one of the best, with smooth changing, less crunching, and so forth. Wouldnt mind getting a few recommendations out of this thread, as i got ot change gearbox oil and diff oil as well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

guys have been told that the only reason that man gear oil is thik is to stop noise but being thik makes it harder for changing gears i was told to add automatic trans oil as darkstar said dextron 3 from castrol is one of the best oils in the world that is why ever other company has somethink called dextron it is a automatic trans but is thin like water and makes it easyer to slip through the gears but to much automatic trans and the box will be to noisey i work at castrol so i am bias but have spoken to the technical guys at work and he told me about the automatic trans in the box then rang trans diffs and gears and he said the same think i have not done this so can not say that it work just thourght i would share this info with you guys .

well, ive bought hte stock recommendation of 80W gear oil, Shell Helix Brand. I was thinking of going the synthetic, but its got a higher viscosity, i think 70--95, while hte recommeneded is a straight 80. Cant go wrong with the manufactures refference :P
