Hey, does anyone know exactly how much power you loose when runing a car on gas apposed to petrol? e.g "80 rwkw with petrol, 60 rwkw on gas..." Cheers

u can gain power if u set the motor up for gas. gas is denser then petrol, and can run at a higher c/r

But you also have to knock back the timing cuz u dont have the intercooling effect petrol gets when it evaporates..

actualy you can run a little more timing in some cases, because gas has a higher octane and also burns a little cooler... ill be able to tell you soon how much power im getting at the rears on LPG compared to someone with a similat setup.. should be interesting... Gas is a less energy dense fuel, and that is the only problem with it, it requires more amount of gas to produce the same amount of power as the same amount of petrol.. and if you ever want to go racing you cant just use avgas or c16...

benno-> (i know there are exceptions,) but basically: fuel = (original power) fuel+ gas (you can switch between both) = (power loss) straight gas = (power gain) gas has a higher octain than fuel (around 102 ron from memory) so if anything, doing a STRAIGHT gas conversion will increase your horsepower... good luck!
