I used to have a N/A Vl I hooked up water injection (very dodgy job) but I was running the timming at 30+ degrees BTDC, and it still didnt ping. How ever the motor only lasted about another 10,000k,s (total of about 270,000 k's so it was pretty old) Anyway I was keeping up with stock VL turbos with this setup Look around on the net if you want more info on water injection

I also had extractors 2.5 inch exhaust, cold air and a crow cam(kicked in at about 3000rpm and would light up rears 1st and 2nd in an auto!) If you change the cam, change the lifters too, I didnt and about two weeks later it was ticking away like mad (cheapest I could find a set for was $500 :? )

If you advance it you will probally feel like it has more low down response. The only thing i would be recommending is running 98 octane fuel, optimax etc. to avoid any pinging, if you dont already run it. Mick

/dumb question of the day/ How/where is the timing adjusted? My mechanical knowledge doesn't extend very far I take it, that a timing light would be needed... is this something better left to a mechanic? and will it kill my engine later on in life... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The timing is adjusted by loosening the bolt on the dizzy just enough to move it up or down to adjust the timing to your desired spec. If you want it precise, you need to do this while the car is at normal operating temp, and yes, you need a timing light. It shouldnt kill anything, I was just weary that it may ping a bit, but I run optimax anyway, so i guess i will try it on the weekend when i get time. Cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I've got a vl cal with a 2 1/2 inch front the cat back and a KN pod. Man I'm flat out lighting the treads in first off the mark, (unless I use the brake). How fast should a na vl be? I raced my mates VS and I was quicker up until about 50km/h then he got a lead. How fast should I be with these minor mods? I changing my gear ratios soon too as I buying an r33 front cut later in the year.

Hey guys, I have a 2 and 1/2 Inch exhaust from cat back, goin to get extractors in a monthor around will change other stuff, but what I am wondering is, how much do the K&N Air Filter Systems cost? I understand that you need the housing, filter and such, but do you need the cross over pipe changed, or do you change it because the standard cross over pipe is too small? Cheers... Ha ha ha, Petros, Turboin is ya answer to everything, ya a funny bloke! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
