Hey guys, i got a N/A calais, and i changed the oil not too long ago. I used Valoline Synthetic (reccomended by a mate that builds motors). Ok now when i start the car in the morning, as per most Vl's until the oil pressure builds up , I have the 'tapping' of the lifters. My question is, should it take like 10 - 15 secs for it to stop, as it is in my case? I know the oil is thinner, thus drainging away quicker over night from the top end, but could it also be the oil pump on its way out...? Oh and while im talking about oil, anyone else use synthetic and notice a supposed fuel (or anything in that matter) increase or decrease over the normal mineral oil? any help or feed back would be appreciated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

use castrol furmula R its the best by far bit rich but thay all tap for a about 5 to 10 sec the thinner the oil the quicker it gets pumped to the top of the motor in the cold thus meaning less wear at start up furmula r is a 10w/60 full synthitic should get it for about 80 to 85 $ for 5lt ouch just depands on what you want to spend bye Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

cool dude thanx, i might try it next time i do an oil change hey while im also in this section hehe (i love asking Q's, but i guess that how every1 learns) im running Autolite Platinum plugs, with a gap or 1mm. I know th standard gap is 1.1, so will this make a diff for the better or worse? And... what plugs you reccomend without all the wankery n crap.. are the standard NGK as good as the 'preformace' ones? Thanks in advance Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

When u start the thing in the morning, does the oil pressure gauge shoot up from the red as soon as it fires? or does it take a few seconds? U might also wanna try Castrol GTX Magnatec... it actually does a good job!

My cars lifters make that noise for about 5 secs until oil pressure goes up when it is cold each morning. Nothing to worry about, until they make a racket all the time. By the way i use Castrol GTX 2 20w-50, best oil in my opinion, its the recommended viscosity by Nissan and also doesnt break down like some other oils around. Mick

I only use Mobil 1 in my motor with no problems, also I have tried all the different types of spark plugs and find the standard ones the best for the job good ole NGK.

guys the more boost that you run the smaller the gap should be to stop misfire. under high boost it makes it harder for the spark to jump the gap thats the reason for smaller gaps i have a highly mod vl bt1 with a nizpro cooler autronic managment flowed head ect i run a 0.7 gap from the 1.1 stanard stops misfires allso just use ngk there the best in my opion by the way guys just remamber the better the oil you use the more you look arfter the motor magnatec is ok but l would not use gtx2 in my car it only cost 13$ for 5lt on special at kmart. think about it you get what you pay for unless you are running high boost 20psi+ just keep the gap at about 0.9 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
