so here i am am driving along and i wish to get some fresh air. but it takes ssssoooooooooo loong to get my window down. it is like the motors are on the brink of death. too many trips up and down me thinks.
do they need new motors?
anyone ever got new motors for their power windows?
if so how much?
cheers 8O
can u hear the motor working off it's head? does it only happen on one of the windows?
i'm guessing yeah the motor is getting tired. just go to commo wreck or rack-a-part
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
its due to corrosion on the roller bar holding the window. Take off the trim and wind down to an accessible height, and get some CRC / silicone spray (or both) to lubricate the bar the rollers run on (along the bottom of window).. The CRC will cut corrosion and silicone will lubricate WELL. If u don't do it you'll wear the motors too.
Being as these aren't mercedes, the brackets inside will corrode slightly with time and atmospheric moisture. SO whenever the fast food lady has to ask for your order twice while u wind down the window, you know its time for more silicone!
i went for a maccas run last week when it was 4 degress at night, got to the drive thru window and my drivers window refused to wind down, had top open the door to pay n get food, public humiliation
worked the next day when it wasnt *** freezing :\
Hey guys...
They're right about the silicone...
Bue hey whats worse is driving a Hyundai Sonata and having a window that won't go down.
I finally crach the ****s with it, and fixed it (so i thought) Now the damm thing because of the one-touch down feature, it goes down the comes straight back up... fun and games.
But then what more should we expect from a Hyundai. Luckily i have had NO cosmetic type problems with the VL.
