GdayAll, i was just wondering if any of you out there could help me out, my VL keeps stalling on me for no apparent reason. My VL is dualfuel and the gas system has just recently been checked and is in reasonable working order. I have also got the alternator fixed because it was frying my battery.I dont have any idea what is causing it to stall when im driving. It happens on both petrol and gas. If i leave it for a few minutes it usually starts up again after a few attempts!!! If any1 could suggest anything itwould be GREATLY appreciated!! dale ops: Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I would have a guess at the problem being your CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) in your distributor. It is known for causing symptons like you have said. So i would investigate the CAS first. Mick

With out sounding like a broken record, my bet is the Crank Angle Sensor, as RB30-POWER suggested. I recently had the exact same symptoms as you. Changed the CAS and all is fine again. Cheers

Dude, if your regulator was stuffed (i.e. frying your battery), it could very well have fryed you ECU! I experienced this with my VL... kept stalling for no reason... got the CAS replaced, dizzy, fuel pump, fuel pressure checked, kept stalling... the ECU didn't even return fault codes! In the end the mechanic gave up and swapped my ecu with another VL and problem solved... U can whack the ECU on diognostic mode and check for a fault in the CAS circuit if u can't be bothered paying someone to do it... Good luck
