I just read the update that Sin did on the Calaisturbo.com site and it was interesting. The police related to the people as "Hoons" and having there "deafening stereo's" Its it true about the on the spot $250 fine for having your stereo to loud, or is this just the media making up stuff again???? link : http://www.axg.net/gg/ct/images/paper/story.jpg Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

This is for safety reasons..if you have your stereo up too loud, you may not hear approaching sirens or horns warning of an impending disaster. :? (That's their excuse anyway)

i can't see anything wrong with that rule at all. it makes perfect sense. plus how gay are the wankers goin along a place like chapel (in my case i would say somewhere like Cavill) at 2km/h blaring out 5000db of "music" that nobody else wants to listen to. it's bull****. That's really intelligent and well thought out too "ex-static" "they're ****s" and you wonder why they don't particularly like calaisturbo.com'ers. Good luck on highflow 4 or whatever with comments like that.

In QLD now, if the police think your playing your stereo too loud, they give a notice saying that u must NOT use your steteo (at all) for 12 hours. If you are caught again using your stereo at all in the 12 hours, or if the stereo is deemed too loud again (within 3 years of the 1st notice) (deemed by the cop), they can confiscate the stereo out of the car.

What you people don't realise is that car stuf pisses EVERYONE else in the community off, loud stereos, burnouts, racing etc no-one wants to see it except you. Instead of calling cops "****s" why don't you realise that you are in fact a minority that usually irritates the wider community with your actions. I know most of you people are sensible and respectful and all that but you can understand why cops are so tough on cars and stereos.

OldGold no i don't undersstand why cops r soo hard. chapel **** could u imagine if no one had there stereo's on or if there waz no cars there?? it would have the same atmosife (sp). Cops r ****s, why pull over people for doing nothing wrong on chaps for? and having a epa station set up there? why don't they go out and get drink drivers that r killing people rather then pulling over us when we r going 1kph down chaps? it's like if u have a interest in cars and u like ur car u r a target for the cops. like the calais cruise people were parked and they came and busted it up. what wwould they rather us to do?? deal drugs to little school kids? go hold up a shop? sorry but i get pulled over all the time and have this argument with cops and i'm sick of it. :x

Chapel St. and the cruise are different I guess, then they were being ****s, but It's unfair to generalise and say they all are

Quote: What you people don't realise is that car stuf pisses EVERYONE else in the community off, loud stereos, burnouts, racing etc no-one wants to see it except you i dont believe that at all. there are grannys driving datsuns with louder exhausts than most vl turbos. i have never heard any person of any age complaining that a stereo was too loud. burnouts are fair enough but how often does someone do a burnout around other traffic. the odd ****head does but even that is rare. i would like to see the statistics of how many innocent people have been killed from people driving performance cars racing in dangerous places. i would be inclined to think it is great deal less than the people killed by drunk drivers or just idiots in general. i agree with what brendan says, they can be ****s and they know it. its not a personal attack on any police officer but they know when they hand you some bull**** fine that they are just being an asshole, but it is their job i spose. one last thing, i think the laws that give police the power to judge things "at the officers discretion" shouldnt exist.

I hate that boom boom stereo **** on the road, its annoying and its just attention seeking. I congratulate the police on doing something about it, i mean there is loud and there is stupidly loud, i was sitting in my car with a friend a while ago and it was vibrating from a boom tish car, my mate stuck his head out the window to see where it was and it was four cars back! Another thing that concerns me is the hearing problems these people are going to have, i have bad tinitus myself from noisy workshops. I see most of them wear ear plugs which is kind of saying im not listening to it for enjoyment hey... Carcrazy

I cant say it enough times. If you all think there is only one type of police officer, then your all just a bunch of morons! Police are assigned to different tasks, are trained in different tasks, and the amount of police around is plenty to share between all different tasks. They are not trained to undertake all duties. There is the traffic officer, whom we have all grown fond with since getting our license at the ripe old age of 17. This is the officer that most people here seem to always bag, and curse. Why dont they go and find people murdering or raping or stealing, instead of harassing us car enthusiats. Simple answer, because there is OTHER officers that specialise in those particular departments. I hate to be an arsehole, but stop ya bitching, do the right thing, and you wont be targeted so often, or you wont incur fines all the time. Simple as that... As for stereos, the ricer community can have there stereos for all i care, they can go deaf... it doesnt affect me, but when im in a car, and the stereos up loud, it doesnt last for long, id rather have my hearing, which is limited now, i also have tinitus, than be a poxy little wanna be cool dude, with my full sik stezza moite! They should get one warning, and have the warning always in vehicle + database with records, then a fine, then stereo taken from vehicle not to be given back, sold or crushed, whatever the police choose.
