Hey people. I was wondering if anyone knows the performance figures of a stock RB30E automatic VL Commodore, like 0-100km/h times, standing 400m times and rear wheel kilowatt figures?

performance = below average. they are very slow and sluggish rwkw = about 80 stock. can be up to 110 with mods etc

Ahh.. those figures are shocking! What kind of power could I gain with a better camshaft.. worth the effort/money?

if you want to eventually go turbo , then dont bother spending up big on the atmo. if you wanna keep it atmo then by all means do some headwork , and cam and exhaust. etc it is quite noticeable. good luck.

I'm wondering here - I have the 3ltr auto myself, and was considering doing the usual - cam/computer/induction/headers/port/polish/plane and I'm wondering if its worth it, or if I should fix the RB25DET engine (spun main bearing) I have in the workshop. Problem is that if I wanna go turbo, I'd want to go manual, but the Nissan manual gearbox to handle that engine is a good $2000.

gerbs either way you go youll eventually need to replace a g/box. even a mild atmo is too much power for a stock auto. if i was in ur shoes id go the rb25 option. as to manual boxes im not top knowledgeable about them , maybe email the owner of this site. he is in the know when it comes to this stuff

if u want a manual just get a vl turbo box, they r the same motor so i can't see why it won't work?? with the work u wanna do i think u could probably put a turbo on the side of it for just a little bit more $$$, the trading post is a wonderful thing Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

For my money....f*ck messing around with atmo auto......my RB30e R31 GTSII skyline had a 140kw and was auto........and what a slug it was! Gerbs....I hear ya mate!.......Nissan Manual box prices for the RB's is a bit of a joke!.......MX7's are around $1500.....RB25's a bit more again....I though stuff paying that and have a standard R31 5spd behind the VLT motor I have in my GTS now ....still hard to find though!......seems 95% of VL's and R31's were auto ...we'll see how she goes  SL 88: A 'Sun dial' is not considered proper drag racing timing theres no way a VL with the mods u mention will run a Flat 15 sorry Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

fair enough for you to think that. but no-one else can believe it either. but its true, times were recorded at quit motorplex here in perth. my mate has a vl berlina with 3k worth of computer gear like chip and computer and an exhaust specially designed by genie to the computer all tuned on a laptop and a bigger cam( dont know what sort) and my car beats his by about a car length sometimes a bit more. i know what ya mean bout being an auto and n/a, there is no where to go with them i want to get a vl turbo!

I ran a 9.12 in my na But then I woke up Anyway, a flat 15 is bloody fast for a stocker (more or less) a stock turbo would be lucky to run those figures these days! As teh south man says Timeslips please! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah sorry, don't like to call you a liar but that's very unlikely. even with a strong down strip wind and 5 degree temperatures i doubt the car in mention could pull that. maybe the timing equipment is retarded. or your car has had work done that you know nothing of :?:  I got time slips for my runs... which of course are nothing special but for the mods I have, are quite impressive. did a 15.94 then a 15.93... has more in it but i sucked ass on launches until i got it and the place shut few of the brisbane fella's witnessed it so i'm not gonna bother scannin & postin ****...btw i know you're all referring to sl_88... l8r !
