mine has also stopped. And according to my books, the speedo died at 50,000k, so it must be a common thing??

You can try just hitting the dash, If that doesn't work youve gotta take it to a speedoshop, What happens is the little gear get jammed and if your unlucky they tear the teeth off themselves. Good Luck

The repair shops take the instrument panel out and rotate the gears 180 degrees. One end gets worn down and stops working, so if yours hasn't been done yet, you could do it yourself and save a bit of money. In the short term, you may be able to get it to work by resetting the trip meter. If you let the reset button spring back hard, it tends to jump the gears a bit and might get you out of trouble in the short term. When my parents' died, it was putting on 10,000km for every 100m travelled!

HHAHAHA... mine stopped at 138000km about 7 months ago!!!!! Then after about a week it went skitzo and clocked 1000km for every one km and then a week or too later stopped all together... WEIRD... :? But anyone know where to get another dash at a decent price..... I have already resigned to the fact that I will never get my original kms back which is ****ed.. cause it prob only done 145-150k , but as long as the dash I get doesnt read like 300000, I will have to make do, besides I prob have to stop my madness and begin selling my CALAIS soon enough, but which one to sell first, green... or blue??? or both ... nah I dont think I could sell both at once.... too painful  Anyway must be a common prob!!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If you're getting a new dash, it's not that hard to remove the speedo part and reset the odometer to what your old one was at. That way the car still keeps its original kms. May even be able to do it by removing the perspex front, but have to be careful not to scratch the numbers. When I bought my car it had 144,000 on the clock. I tracked down a previous owner who'd had it about 3 years before I got it, and he said it'd done about 151,000 when he sold it! :?
