does anybody have any opinion on mounting a sony explod sub in my parcel self of my vl (either 10 or a 12 but i think a 10 will be sweet as) any ideas would be helpful anything to do with how people will think it will sound would be great to or anyone else that has done this advice would be greatly appreciated thanx Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I wouldn't recomend it: 1. Its ilegal to cut the matal out of the parcel shelf (without an engineer cert) 2. I think Sony explode stuff sounds ****, I managed to blow a new set of 90watt 4 inch tweeters running off my old 40x4 head unit in a week. 3. People can see the sub, therefor they will want to steal it. 4. 9 times out of 10 a sub in a proper box in the boot will sound better than a sub in the parcell shelf. BTW. If you dont already have the sub, then I would spend a little more and get a better one, just go to JB Hifi or similar and have a listen to a couple and see what u like. Good Luck

i found out recently when i took out my parcel shelf that the previous owner had done this system i guess, cuz theres 3 wholes in the frame underneath the shelf. You say this is illegal so is there anything i should do about this or just leave it and hope no one sees it?

Chances are no one is going to check it, I wouldn't worry too much, espicially if you haven't actually got a sub in there, and you've got a normal shelf over the top of the hole. Although the car isn't going to be as strong in an accident, but then again, your not going to get into an accident are you??

good point, also when i put my sub box in it'll be impossible to check as i have a box sitting on my parcel shelf blocking easy access from the top and the sub box blocking anything from below, downside is box on shelf makes for easy removal for thieves
