well wtf is up with the cops? after the calais turbo cruise my thoughts for the cops have dropped even more. what's wrong with them? why the f3ck crash our little party for? and wreck our night when we were doing nothing wrong? what would they rather us do? go sell some drags, rob a shop, murder someone? like seriously i think it's a joke. and after mark telling me that he talk to one of the cops and he said he liked the website and it's pretty good and everything, so they like the club yet they wanna brake it all up? seriously there has to be something we can do ?? has to be. well i just wanna hear u guys thoughts as well, becoz i know i'm sick of it. :x

I usually find the police to be decent people, most of the time they'll pull over stupid cars (like ones that are obviously waaay too low -- and I bet the driver knows it as well )... But using their clever detective work (*sarcasm*) and reading about a cruise on a popular website, and then planning to defect as many cars as they can is just stupid -- it's basically discrimination. It's the dodgy $100 rusted out s**tboxes they should be defecting, not well maintained cars that are probably SAFER than the equvelant stock version of the car. Bigger wheels, means more grip = safer Better Brakes = safer Well maintained = safer + cleaner running Don't really know what their big problem with a well organzed cruise is, it's the kind of event that they should be silently encouraging rather than having 300 cars all driving round randomly on friday nights doing burnouts at maccas and generally being ****heads... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I know it is harsh......I got a canary cos my exhaust was 3mm too low!! But....they are trying to stop idiots but they have no proof who is doing stupid things so they get everyone. I have been out in a carpark with family and mates chatting when a ****head turn's up and starts to do burnouts....then they fark off and the cops get you cos U are there......thay have no proof it was you...but you can't stop them.

what really gets me is i was driving next to a cop today with a 4x4 with a massive crack in the middle of his windscreen in a star shape with cracks going right to all edges. the cops didnt even look twice, but when a car drives past with an exhaust thats a bit too loud they wack on the lights and treat the driver like a ****head (not always but a lot of the time). which is more dangerous? :x

As car enthusiasts we tend to spot broken things on other cars. In droo's example he spotted it coz hes aware of other cars and quality issues, broken things n what not, whereas average joe blo, or mister i read street machine once police officer (not all of them, if copper reading, keep up good job, and stop picking on us) they dont notice these kind of things, unless its starring them in the face, or in case of noise is too loud when it drives by. My car is always kept in pristine condition, and the cops stare at me at the lights, or drive past me looking at me, and it makes me paranoid there going to pull me over, but they dont thankfully. My sisters car is the biggest hunk of **** on wheels, cops look at it when im driving, but do nothing, it shouldnt be on the road, and i want em to pull me over, i'd laugh my head off if they did pull me over. All i can say is stop ya bloody whinging, MOST Police officers are doing there job, the job they are told to do, someone has to do it, and thats them. Some Officers are complete wankers, and think they own the road and can do what they want, and issue fines they want. If your car is illegally low, its your ****ing fault, if its too loud, again thats your fault, if its got an oil leak, if your monster tacho is in the wrong spot, if you cat is gutted. Everything is your fault, as you know what is legal and what isnt, if you dont know, then why are you modifying a car, why do you like cars, and why are you a registered member or a visitor to a PERFORMANCE website/forum... I agree at hiflow #3 there presence was overkill, and undue. Especially for parking fines, if your next to your car, and its parked you shouldnt incur a fine. But as for all the yellow stickers that people got at the cruise, and over time, whos fault is that, YOURS! your car is built illegally to the ADR rules, and therefore should incure fines/stickers for yourself to pay for the car to be fixed, put to the correct way. Sure im being an arsehole in saying all of that, but my car is also illegal in the lowering department, and if i get caught i will be upset, but hey i want my car low coz it looks good, and improves handling... i'll cop the canary on the cheek, and pay to get car 'fixed' Abuse me all you want, but thats how it is. All the police officers who have pulled me over have been ****ing champions! Ive been warned for doing donuts in the old XF, long lecture to me and friends, he had been my age once and did that stuff, but warned me not to do it again. 2nd time, was racing friend and got pulled over, i got a warning, and friend got a fine (he wasnt letting me back into lane, single lane, i swapper lanes to boot it past him, and he booted it, he didnt let me back in when oncoming car was approaching, he got fine, 3 points, and due to loss of points, lost license for 3months) Last cop pulled me over doing stupid speeds on road, was pulling 180 in a 70 zone, and got a fine for 160. was only a fine and loss of points. Cop was a legend, let me off VERY EASILY! so al i can say, is police reading this forum, let us cruise, we are a friendly bunch of guys & girls, we dont cause trouble *99% of the time* dont raid out cruises, have a small presence if it makes you happy. And at the end of the day CalaisTurbo.com will be happy, and the Police force will be happy /end rant

South; for a change i actually have to agree with you on what you've said... If you give the cops some respect when/if you get pulled up they are generally going to give you some respect back...

The deal is that Car People are the minority. Hotted up cars are associated with loud stereos, burnouts and racing. And that's not undue. People doing that kind of stuff in the wrong place piss me off. It pisses of pretty much everybody. And people of our age are the worst drivers. And don't argue with that, I know some people here are great drivers but 18-25 = most accidents. That's the way it is. It pisses me off, but I'm glad the cops are so sticky about it. They do it out of concern for you and others, not for fun. And as for that "Revenue raising" ****, the cops don't see any of the fine money. It's not like they get paid a commision for every sticker they give out. I know some people get fined though their car is legal, then it becomes wrong and unjust. Like HiFlow 3, that was a plain and uncalled for attempt to get cars off the road. But I think I'm with South in saying Life is unfair. Get used to it.

I got followed by cops the other night, he then parked next to me and proceeded to tell me i was accelerateing too fast and it was a waste of fuel, i honestly didn't think i was and i told him his response was i could hear your car. I actually believe i wasn't doing anything wrong as i came out of a red light with 3 cars in front of me but believe i was just a victim due to being in a low vl, very dark tint in a popular hang out point which is a popular area for burnouts, i dont see much you can do in this situation, i just said yeah your right wont do it again and he just told me to drive carefully. Seemed like a top bloke in just letting be go without any hassles but woulda been better if it never happened

bloody hell. i always thought "law enforcement agents" were of sane mind! how bored are some of these police? they aren't consistent either in the their judgment. sometimes they are strict and sometimes they are like "nice car mate". remember that police are their to protect you and that not all police are road enfringement enthusiasts! like the time my friend got arested for peeing in public around roma street somewhere!!! (okay irrelevant) ops: But he really needed to go... :? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ok well I was driving home one late night (1am) from my exs house and the cops were PLAYING cat and mouse with me. Speeding up, backing off, hi beam, low beam over and over again. I for some reson though hmmm check out the car and Yup it had POLICE whacked across it with red and blue lights. They were provoking me to go over 70km/h. Now if there are any cops reading this???? Why would you do this? Why was it ok to go over 70km/h when us civilians have to stick to the roads. Why was it ok to keep on flashin me on hi then low beam. You do know that hi beam scorches your eyes when it reflects of the mirrors!!!!!! Nows to time to voice you opinion, and when you get the next cruise to break it up and defect us all I hope you have read this post and answered it correctly or else this might be used.................really answers are needed. Speak up, and never use the excuss "you never get a chance to". Sorry for winging guys but it annoys me that you guys get hi-flows broken up and they can do **** like this to me!!!!!! Thus to get away with it.

well i haven't had stuff like that but i've had times where i've been seen by a cop and they'd fly through traffic to pull me over like i just murder someone. one time i waz on burwood hwy at the lights going toward srpingvale rd, there waz a op on the other rod of the intersection waiting to turn onto burwood hwy going the way which i waz coming from. i saw him look over at me and stairing, straight away i knew he'd pull me over. well he got the first green light and drove down burwood hdy (oppsite way which iw az going). then i got a green, gave it a bit of stick to get in front of the traffic (not speeding) and i waz going up hill so i could see over the traffic behind me. well what do i see, the cop pulled a u-turn and waz flying through the traffic left, right, left, right. no lights mind u and i knew he waz after me. he canked all through the taffic and pulled up behind me ass, like very very close. give it 50meters and the lgiths turn on. i pull over sraight away get out of the car with my licnise out for him. straight away he goes pop the bonnet and see's i have a v8. he copies the engine number and say i'm not allowed to drive it, i argued with him becoz i had checked before i bought the car. anywayz i got fined and he ****ed off. he waz rude as becoz i told him i had ask the police if i waz allowed to drive it and he said "well u didn't ask me did u" and other **** like "no other officer knows the stuff i know". but i contested the fine and won soo it waz canceled. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

actually cops have to meet a quota per month, if they dont get a certain amount of canaries etc it doesnt look good for them etc...... its all bull****. I got done at the calaisturbo cruise as well for such a petty thing as blue parkers and yeah they ***ed me over pretty hard, made me get a full RWC and fined me $165 so as you can imagine my opinion of them isnt very high at all, they could of simply made me present the car at vicroads with globes removed, thats the only thing they coulf **** me on !!! and they checked my whole car! no i ask you is that right??? hell no!...... but what can we do, we are a minority!

My car has (was) always kept in pristine working order and if it wasn't in perfect factory condition i upgraded it. Numerous times i have been followed by police or chased down for no apparent reason other than to see if I slip up and give them something to book me for. I have been chased down and then tailgated (so close i couldn't see his headlights) on a deserted road simply because they were bored. Another time I was followed for 5km in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night by an unmarked car without his lights on, they thought they couldn't be seen. Going through an RBT one night I was pulled out of a lineup of cars and one copper decided that he wanted to defect the car anyway he could, he started writing out the ticket before he found anything wrong. They wen't through the ENTIRE car looking for anything at all, in the end wanting to get me cos they thought i debadged a VT (i have a vt holden bonnet emblem on my glove box), i told him i had a reciept for it. Meanwhile the other cops were standing around telling me how nice the car looked ??? I have a minimalised respect for traffic police. I understand that they have to do there job and if you break the rules then that's fine u deserve it, but at the same time they need to be consistent. My mate deserves a dangerous driving charge for the **** that he has constantly pulled on the streets (lets not go there) yet for all the times he has been pulled over and chased down, he hasn't recieved a single ticket. NOT ONE! He thinks it's great and I reckon it's a crock. I drive like a grandma and I get the unwanted attention. where's the justice? Sometimes I wish they'd just get a life and start doing there job properly. I have a deep seeded opinion on these matters and i won't go there without being completely infuriated, just to say that my experience has been an unjustifiably bad one. Matt

I have a lot of respect for the cops, im 28 and i drive a pretty low vl with big wheels, and i have never ever had any trouble with them, ive never been pulled over, never been defected, and when i get pulled over for a roadside rbt i never have any trouble. Maybe its because of my age who knows, i suppose its that i dont drive around like i have something to prove too, who knows?? One thing that does spring to mind though, i was driving through Sydney with a friend and a roadside RBT signaled me to pull over, my mate totally flipped out and started carrying on about how i was finished and that i would have to get towed home etc, copper looks at the wheels and car and says "Nice car mate" Carcrazy
