brock inlet manifold, brock hdt heads, on a hq-hz red 308 block, flat top pistons. on a comp test i waz getting 160psi average on all 8 cyclinders
question:
how much should i shave off the manifold and heads? and how much more comp will i get out of this? ops:
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Well, Holden heads apparently only end up flowing 430hp fully ported.. might go with a set of Edelbrok Alloy heads to suit Holden 308 which flow 600 out of the box.
Im about to Port and Polish mine.. Not sure if i am going to do the Manifold aswell. but..
do the intake 160 and exhaust 202 apparently.... not sure as of yet.. im getting some previously tested specs on people who have done this and what they get out of em flow rates etc.. if ur doing it urself.. i got told that it may be an idea to do the intakemanifold exit port to cyl head, a lil smaller than the cyl head, this will prevent pressure problems meeting the face of the cyl head. If u dont have the right measuring equipment..
I've got a Redline Maxi-torque manifold , its a single plane.. im going to de-reme everything aswell, just try squeeze what i can out of it.
are you going to polish aswell?
as i heard there is some methods to work with, as if u dont do it right it may in turn cost you horsepower.. where as when u had left it, the fuel didnt turn back to fuel when it hits the Oversmoothed Wall face.
anyway i dont realy know that much about it, as its a learning experience atm for me also.. good luck m8
black VK: you sure edelbrock make holden alloy heads? I know COME do and also Yella Terra, but I was pretty sure they were the only 2. I know Edelbrock make holden manifolds but I thought that was all.
