is there any way to check vehicle details eg built date, colour, engine, trans etc. etc... but with only the Chassis number, as someone has done an ID plate swap before i purchased?? PPSR Certificate only tells me - last registration was in SA 2008 before that was Vic - engine number 303**A8 - Year/Month of compliance 1987-01 - Written Off: no records reported - Stolen: no records reported going by the 3 incorrect tags on firewall the chassis number on the right hand plate PPSR certificate tells me that NO MATCHING VEHICLE FOUND What the hell Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the only way to tell is via the id plate in terms of color, trans, etc the number on the 2nd ID plate should match the strut tower and then the build date on the 2nd id plate will state for eg 2/87 and that should match the first id plate that will say feb 87. If the number on the strut tower matched with all the tags then thats your car. If the numbers dont match up dont buy it. ---------- Post added 07-01-13 at 16:04 ---------- also if the strut tower(chassis number) doesnt match then usually they remove the 3 tags and give you a police number on the tower
