Hey just a quick question I've been trying to research but everybody seems to have both or none, now I've got a VL Calais that I'm in the middle of bolting a set up on now, I seen the oil feed got excited and now I'm at the oil lines and like I said I have the feed but where the return is usually is just blank you can see where it should be but simply isn't there Has anyone had to deal with this before? I'm not keen on the idea of tapping the block I would rather get an "S2" but I am fairly handy on a welder, so if I were to get another sump would I get away with using the oil feed I've got and my return in the sump? Or is the oil level to high in them? Any help would be appreciated thanks guys

Yeah that's exactly what it looks like apart from no oil drain, I've done some more research and I can get a return put in sump, but I'm curious as to weather I can use the feed or weather its blank and just has a bolt there for some reason, I haven't played with turbos too much but is there a certain amount of pressure that the oil should be pumped at? And would it spew oil out if I take that bolt out to double check its a feed but I can't see it being anything else

You can weld a bung on the sump, just make sure it's at the very top, you don't want the oil to get backed up. That's what a lot of the guys with cars that weren't intended to be turbocharged have to do. We are lucky with our rb motors everything is usually set up for us. Also you can't use that oil feed hole as a drain. For two reasons. -The hole is too small too drain back in -That oil gallery is linked directly to the oil filter and is fed by oil preasure.

Nah mate I wasn't intending to try use it as a drain I just wasn't sure what it was, becuase pretty much everywhere I've looked ive only found that they either have it or don't but I'm only missing the drain I'm not really sure why though, but that's okay my day has got a little better now

What about a sandwich plate on the oil filter. Couldn't that be used for oil feed & drain??

Mate the oil feed u have is blocked off there's no oil there, if u wanted to use it ud need a 150mm long drill bit and drill it out but even then if ya off centre at all then u can screw the block up all together... Most people use a t from the oil pressure switch for the feed on the s1 block and return it to either the oil filter useing a sandwich plate or welding into the sump... As for the water u can use the factory lines
