i was just reading through a thread in "technical-engine,turbos" section called "BOV". it became aparent that alot of ppl thought they were illegal until pete (DVS86) pointed out some ways of getting round a fine should u be pulled over for such things...just getting the ball rolling on simlilar rules that ppl have been fined for. ie. no "H" pattern on the gear knob. there are all the obvious things like speeding and drink drving, but theres also alot of rules that u wouldnt even know about until u hear some one being busted for them... jeffo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Jeffo, there is a guy on PF caleld 2ofdem who is putting together a list of all ADR rules and their variants purely for QLD. It will be very interesting to read I assure you (If you understand legal mumbo jumbo). So I think that once its up that people should have a read of that. Also check out www.ajc13b.com. Is a guys website from PM. It has a lot of "law" on there to browse from ADR's etc. Once again lots of legal stuff and jargon (read boring adn mind numbing). Also about my BOV thing, just remember that attitude is the key. Dont cop a bad attitude (no pun), keep a civil tongue in your head and for goodness sake, if you dont know what your talking about dont start an arguement with whoever as you will look like an idiot and get on the wrong side of the person doing the defect search. Basically know your rights and dont push your luck. My 2c on the topic.

I almost got done for my "blue leds" on my HUD last night - cop wanted to do me for "impersonating a police officer". I told him that the lights are interior lights, and hence can be any colour they want to be (just not allowed blue EXTERNAL lights) - instead of that, he wrote me a different ticket for more points and more money. *waves bye bye to licence*.

what kind of ticket did you get? i think the best way to handle the situation is to cop what you get, then appeal it to the rta/court, etc. if your right then your right, and the only defect hopefully listed was the one that was most obvious and nothing major.

long story - but the short of it is - i did commit the offence as said on the ticket, although i do not agree that it was warranted for that ticket to be issued under the circumstances (particularly with the number of points and fine that goes along with it).

I can't believe how the Police / Cops can "do you" for such minor things over there........ I hope it doesnt go the same way here. :? The only things that a cop will ticket you for here (apart from driving issues) are bald tyres and exhaust too loud..... 8) Later Brent

So technically speaking your exhaust system is illegal right? It vents to atmosphere. Should ask an EPA bloke that one day when you walk into the office, dont drive or they will reem you. 8O I'd pay to see his face if that was his exact line - "anything that ventes to atmo is ileagal" and he was talking about everything in the car. Im not having a go at you giantbrandon, just at the EPA.

giantbrandon: Tell that silly prick from the EPA to try driving to work without breathing(or farting) and see how far he gets, because from his POV technically you should have a plumback on your respiratory system as well 8O I remember reading on here a while ago or the PF forums, someone got done because the number of clicks on their handbrake was out  Now thats petty ..... Another one I've heard is people getting done for not having their windscreen wiper resivoir filled. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
